- Electricity: National  electric network is provided to 100% communes, wards and towns.

- Water: Clean water system is supplied to all districts, cities to ensure to supply fully for life and business activities.

- Traffic: Traffic system of departing and coming to Lao Cai is very convenient, here it concentrates all types of traffic.

+ Road: There are 5 highway lines running through the province (4, 4D, 4E, 279, 70) with total length of 451km; 10 provincial road lines with the length of nearly 500km and nearly 4.500 km of  inter – commune and hamlet roads.  Specially, highway line from Noi Bai – Lao Cai with the length of 264km has been being executed that will shorten the running time between Hanoi – Lao Cai about more 3 hours. Thisline is connected to the highway line Con Minh – Ha Khau (China) through Kim Thanh bridge, then creates unobstructed connection joints for Con Minh – Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong economic corridor line.

+ Railway: there is Hai Phong – Hanoi – Lao Cai (Vietnam) – Ha Khau – Con Minh (China) international transactional railway line: transportation of domestic and international commodities, passengers. Currently, Hanoi – Lao Cai railway line has been being  upgradedand repaired in order to meet  the demand of commodity transportation and traveling of increasing tourists.

          + River road: There are two lines Red river and Chay river running along the center of province, create an interconnected waterway system.

+ Airway: In the future, there will have an airport at Gia Phu commune, Bao Thang district; 13 km from city centre.

- Telecommunications, Information Technology: infrastructure of telecommunications developes strongly, increasingly more modern, 100% of commune centers are covered with mobile wave. The optical fiber cable transmission network is invested in all 9/9 centers of districts and cities; 100% of companies deploy to provide the high qualified telecommunication service by modern technology; Density of  Internet subscriber has reached 6,8 subscribers/100 people. Infrastructure of Information Technology is modern, synchronous with many practical applications.

- Bank: Currently there are 10 branches of commercial banks (Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam - BIDV, Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank – Techcombank; Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development – Agribank, Sai Gon Commercial Bank – Saigonbank, etc) operating in the province which performs the various services to meet the demand on capital, transfer, payment, etc for investors.

- Border gate system of Lao Cai:

* Lao Cai – Ha Khau international border gate:

Lao Cai has two couple of Lao Cai – Ha Khau international border gate (railway and road way) which has convenient location, located inside Lao Cai City –where fully concentrate types of transportation(railway, roadway, waterway) and in the future, there will have airport. Lao Cai International border gate has 3 customs clearance points:

- Railway:

+ Opening time: 24/24h;

+ The location to make immigration procedures for people and transportation vehicles; importing and exporting commodities: Lao Cai international station.

- Ho Kieu II Bridge:

+ Openning time: From 7am – 10p.m (Hanoi time) in all days of week.

+ The location to make immigration procedures for people and transportation vehicles; importing and exporting commodities: Lao Cai international border gate management center.

+ Location of collection and inventory: inventory area of Lao Cai ward.

- Border gate of road way No 2:

+ Opening time: from 7 am to 10 pm (Hanoi time) in all days of the week.

+ The location to make immigration procedures for people and transportation vehicles; importing and exporting commodities is Control station No 1 – Kim Thanh commercial and industrial zone.

* Main border gate Muong Khuong- Kieu Dau:

Opening time: From 7am to 5pm (Hanoi time). The location to make immigration procedures and transportation vehicles; importing and exporting commodities: Muong Khuong border gate

In addition, Lao Cai also has some auxiliary border gates such as: Hoa Chu Phung, Lo Co Chin, Y Ty, and Ban Vuoc. In which Ban Vuoc auxiliary border gate has enough authority forces such as Customs, border guard, quarantine as well as technical units for State’s management.
