The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Hoang Giang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Department of Education and Training; representatives of several provincial departments and sectors; the Lao Cai Young Entrepreneurs Association; representatives from Ultra Education; teachers, students, and guests from various schools in the province.

Overview of the ceremony

Ultra Education is a social enterprise founded in 2014 in the United Kingdom, specializing in teaching entrepreneurial thinking to children and young people. Each year, the organization serves around 5,000 students across the UK through its educational programs and youth business fairs, which are considered the largest of their kind in Europe.

Under the terms of the collaboration, Ultra Education will work with CIS Lao Cai to develop an entrepreneurship curriculum tailored to three levels of education, localized to suit Vietnamese culture and educational context. Ultra Education has also committed to providing professional support, teacher training, and coordinating practical activities to inspire entrepreneurial spirit among students.

Representatives of CIS Lao Cai and Ultra Education signed a cooperation agreement on implementing an entrepreneurship education program for school students

The program is expected to be launched at CIS Lao Cai in the second semester of the 2025 - 2026 academic year, with each level lasting from 30 to 34 weeks. At the same time, the school will also offer short-term courses for non-CIS students at its After School Academy (ASA), which focuses on cultural and skill development beyond regular school hours.

A highlight of the partnership is the event of Children’s Business Fair, scheduled for early November 2025. This will be the first business fair in Vietnam exclusively for school-aged students. The event will serve as a platform for students to present startup ideas, showcase products, and gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, right from their school years.

At the signing ceremony, a representative from the leadership of CIS Lao Cai stated: “The entrepreneurial spirit is not only for adults, it needs to be nurtured from an early age. This collaboration will provide students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, innovative thinking, and self-confidence right from their school years”.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Luyen Huu Chung, Deputy Director of Lao Cai Department of Education and Training, emphasized: “In the context of comprehensive educational reform, integrating business thinking and entrepreneurial spirit into the curriculum is a pioneering step with profound practical significance. It is not only a way to equip students with additional skills, but also contributes to shaping proactive, creative citizens capable of adapting to the modern world”.

He affirmed that Lao Cai Department of Education and Training is always ready to support and facilitate the effective, well-aligned, and sustainable implementation of advanced educational initiatives like this program within schools.

The partnership with Ultra Education marks a significant milestone in CIS Lao Cai’s development strategy, not only bringing global education to the highlands, but also pioneering the integration of entrepreneurship education into Vietnam’s general education system.
