A male student from Lao Cai Gifted High School got a full scholarship to the Yale Young Global Scholars Program (YYGS), USA
Lao Cai Portal – Out of 1,768 students from 126 countries and 50
States, Vu Le Thanh, a 10th grade student from Lao Cai Gifted High
School, Viet Nam, was honor to be awared the full scholarship of US$6,000 to the
Yale Young Global Scholars Program which will be held from July 26 to August 8,
2018.
After passing the first highly competitive round of
application selection with his execellent written essay, Vu Le Thanh, a 10th
grade student from Lao Cai Gifted High School, has been honor to get the full
scholarship to the Yale Young Global Scholars Program. The scholarship of $
6,000 includes the course
fee, excursion fares, living allowance and insurance fee during his
participation in the program.

In addition to the support, the
orientation and the encouragement from his teachers, Vu Le Thanh has made his great
effort in order to gain the scholarship. He has not only produced excellent
results in his studies to be a member in the school team for excellent
students, but enthusiastically and actively participated in the common
acctivities at school as well. Vu Le Thanh used to join Viet Nam National Model
ASEAN Meeting 2017 (VNMAM), the first Lao Cai Gifted High School Model ASEAN
Meeting 2018 (CLCMAM 2018) and the Young Leaders in Education About
Diveristy (YLEAD) 2018 in Singapore. Thanh said: ‘studying abroad has been my goal and my desire since I was at
secondary school. This scholarship has built a sound foundation and
strengthened a strong motivation for me to continue working harder to realize
my dreams in the future. As for now, the most important goal for me is to
search for and get the full scholarships for the long-term courses at the
highly ranked universities in America instead of the short-term courses’.
The Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is a summer
training program for exellent high school students from around the world that
will provide two-week training courses organized in Yale University, New Haven,
USA and Yale University based in Beijing, China. The 2018 Global Young Scholar Program
is designed to help young leaders gain a deeper understanding of the region
through the participation into the discussion of comtemporary topics.
Partcipants will learn about the cultures, history,
society, politics and economies of a wide range of Asian countries and analyze
their impacts on the national and international development. In 2018, 1768
students from 126 countries and 50 States have been accepted to participate in
the program. The main theme of the 2018 program will be “Asia in the 21st
Century” (ATC). The YYGS provides
students with the opportunity to get involved in the practical training with
professors and international students at one of the world famous universities.
Yale University is one of eight Ivy League schools - a
leading group of universities in the USA regarding system, philoshopy,
education, old high quality training. It is the third oldest university in the
United States and one of the world’s leading universities. It is also a place
to nurture the famous American politicians. Many US presidents graduated from
Yale University such as Gerald Ford, Bill Clinton, etc.
