The National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland pays a courtesy visit to Lao Cai Provincial Leaders
LCP - On the evening of March 21, the high-level delegation of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of Lao Cai Province. The delegation was led by Ms. Men Sam An, Vice President of the Cambodian People’s Party, President of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland, and President of the Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Association.
Receiving the delegation were Ms. Giang Thi Dung – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai Province; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council; leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of several provincial departments and agencies.
At the reception, Ms. Giang Thi Dung expressed her pleasure in welcoming the high-level delegation and provided an overview of Lao Cai’s outstanding socio-economic development achievements following administrative consolidation, as well as the success of the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.
She also expressed her hope that relations between Lao Cai and Cambodian localities would be further strengthened to enhance cooperation, share experiences, and attract investment, particularly in areas where Lao Cai has advantages such as border-gate economy, tourism development, agriculture, and mineral exploitation and processing.
The Deputy Secretary and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province also expressed her desire to continue coordinating with Cambodia in cultural, economic, and social fields. She emphasized the important role of the Fatherland Front and equivalent organizations in promoting people-to-people exchanges, enhancing mutual understanding, and maintaining stability, especially in border areas.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Men Sam An thanked Lao Cai Province for its warm reception and expressed her hope that Lao Cai would continue to strengthen cooperation with Cambodia across various sectors, with a focus on tourism development and promoting cross-border trade and transportation of goods.
Both sides agreed to actively and proactively coordinate and exchange information to maintain security and order in the Vietnam–Cambodia border areas, fostering peace, friendship, cooperation, and development. These efforts contribute to deepening bilateral relations and strengthening the spirit of solidarity and friendship between the two countries.
