Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Viet Hung receives courtesy visit from Samsung Vietnam Delegation
LCP - On February 9, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, received and worked with a delegation from Samsung Vietnam on a courtesy visit. The delegation was led by Mr. Na Ki Hong, General Director of Samsung Vietnam.
Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

Expressing his pleasure at welcoming the Samsung Vietnam delegation, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung provided an overview of Lao Cai Province following its administrative consolidation. Accordingly, Lao Cai possesses favorable geographical and transport conditions as it lies along the Kunming - Hanoi - Hai Phong economic corridor. Numerous key national infrastructure and transport projects that have been and are being implemented have created significant momentum, helping to complete vital transport routes, shorten travel time, and enhance regional connectivity. This opens up breakthrough development opportunities for Lao Cai, particularly in attracting investment, urban and industrial planning, and promoting the consumption of agricultural and forestry products.

Mr. Trinh Viet Hung noted that Lao Cai has unique climatic advantages, many beautiful and distinctive landscapes, and rich traditional cultural identities of ethnic minorities, creating strong appeal for tourism. Notable destinations include Sa Pa National Tourist Area, Bac Ha, Y Ty, and Mu Cang Chai, which attract large numbers of domestic and international visitors.
Mr. Trinh Viet Hung expressed his hope that following the meeting, Samsung Vietnam would soon study and explore investment projects in the production and deep processing of medicinal herbs in Lao Cai Province.
In particular, the province has abundant natural medicinal resources, especially more than 150,000 hectares of cinnamon-growing areas. The province has issued a Resolution on the development of strategic medicinal herbs for the 2026 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050. With strong commitment from provincial leaders, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung expressed his expectation that Samsung Vietnam would soon research, explore, and implement investment projects in medicinal herb production and deep processing in Lao Cai. He also hoped that the corporation would introduce and propose major and strategic investors, including Korean pharmaceutical corporations, to consider investing in projects in Lao Cai in the spirit of cooperation, friendship, and development.


On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Na Ki Hong, General Director of Samsung Vietnam, sincerely thanked Mr. Trinh Viet Hung and provincial leaders for their warm and respectful reception. He noted that Samsung Vietnam is the largest production and R&D complex for electronic and high-tech devices of Samsung Group (Republic of Korea) in Vietnam, and also the largest FDI enterprise in the country. With more than 30 years of operation, Samsung currently operates six factories in Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, and Ho Chi Minh City. By the end of 2025, Samsung Vietnam achieved revenue of USD 64.9 billion, export turnover of USD 57.1 billion, and total accumulated investment capital exceeding USD 24 billion.
Mr. Na Ki Hong affirmed that Samsung would continue to accompany the Government of Vietnam as well as Lao Cai Province in developing supporting industries, transferring technology, and training high-quality human resources in the field of information technology, as well as implementing various corporate social responsibility activities.
He highly appreciated Lao Cai’s proactive cooperation spirit and its open and transparent mechanisms and policies in attracting investment. He also shared that in 2026, Samsung would continue to strongly support Vietnam’s development orientation through science, technology, and innovation, as well as implementing various corporate social responsibility activities.

The General Director of Samsung Vietnam affirmed that the working visit to Lao Cai Province would further promote cooperative relations between Samsung Vietnam and Lao Cai in particular, and between Korean enterprises and Lao Cai in general, in the future.
On this occasion, Samsung Vietnam presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Trinh Viet Hung in recognition of his continued support and the significant achievements attained together.
