The delegation visited Chongqing Guilai Fruit Co., Ltd., a leading enterprise in fruit cultivation and processing. The company currently manages around 800 mu of agricultural land in areas with favorable climate and soil conditions for citrus cultivation.

In recent years, the enterprise has focused on developing high-quality local agricultural brands, applying modern farming techniques to improve productivity and competitiveness, and has introduced more than 20 new citrus varieties exported to several Southeast Asian countries.

The delegation also surveyed Degan Industrial Park, one of four major industrial parks in Jiangjin District, and visited the Western China Food Valley, a large-scale agricultural logistics infrastructure project. The zone serves as a key hub for cold-chain storage, preservation, and distribution of agricultural and aquatic products across western China.

Leaders of the Western China Food Valley and the Chongqing Instant Food Cellar Association expressed their interest in exporting spices, agricultural products, and foodstuffs to Vietnam via the Hekou border gate.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sinh introduced Lao Cai’s potential in spice exports and expressed expectations for strengthened import - export cooperation, particularly as customs clearance capacity is set to improve following the standard-gauge upgrade of the railway line between Lao Cai Station and Hekou North Station by 2027.

Within the program, the Lao Cai delegation also visited a brewery to study beer production processes and Chongqing’s well-known beer products, and surveyed the Sanya Bay Fresh Seafood Wholesale Market in Yubei District, one of Chongqing’s largest seafood markets, supplying a wide range of domestic, imported, and farmed aquatic products.
