Lao Cai: Focusing on removing bottlenecks and promoting industrial development
LCP - In 2025, despite still facing many difficulties, industrial activity in Lao Cai continues to grow, and obstacles have been overcome for some large projects…

According to the assessment of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai province, in 2025, industrial production activities in the province will continue to maintain development and ensure it remains an important pillar for the local economic development. The value of industrial production in 2025 is estimated to reach 75,000 billion VND, an increase of 19.75% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 100% of the plan.

Throughout the year, despite facing numerous challenges, industrial activity continued to grow across all three sectors (mining, processing, and electricity and water). Acid production projects operated stably, with higher production and consumption volumes than the previous year, and demand for yellow phosphorus in the global market showed signs of improvement.

The internal structure of the industry is shifting in a positive direction, increasing the proportion of processing and manufacturing industries and gradually reducing the proportion of mining industries. Focus is placed on developing deep processing of minerals and supporting industries, with an emphasis on applying modern and advanced technologies in production to improve quality and protect the environment.

The power supply system throughout the area meets the needs of production and daily life for the people. Hydropower projects are basically operating stably, and new projects are being invested in according to the plan.

Regarding industrial management, safety work has been carried out effectively in accordance with the tasks related to the month of action on occupational safety and hygiene; strengthening safety assurance in the exploitation and processing of minerals; industrial explosives; chemicals; petroleum, liquefied gas; and monitoring the chemical safety training process at chemical-related units.

In addition, we consistently and seriously urge units to strengthen and proactively prevent and respond to natural disasters; and develop and implement annual disaster prevention and control plans for the Industry and Trade sector effectively.
