At the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee provided an overview of Lao Cai’s natural conditions, socio-economic situation, and its key potentials and strengths, including mining and processing industries, border-gate economy and logistics, high-tech agriculture and sustainable forestry, as well as eco-cultural tourism. He also highlighted the province’s notable socio-economic achievements in 2025 and the successful organization of the elections for deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels.

The Chairman also shared information about the project “Construction of Tran Phu Primary School in Luc Yen Commune,” funded by the Embassy of Azerbaijan, which includes six newly built classrooms. He emphasized that this project is a meaningful gift to the local people, contributing to improving the quality of education in the area. He expressed hope that Lao Cai would continue to receive attention and support from the two embassies in the future.

Expressing his desire to strengthen cooperative relations between Lao Cai and localities of the two countries, the Chairman hoped that through the embassies, Lao Cai would be connected with regions of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to promote investment and socio-economic development. He noted that the ambassadors would serve as a bridge for businesses from both countries to explore investment opportunities in Lao Cai, affirming the province’s commitment to creating favorable policy conditions for investors.

Mr. Kanat Tumysh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Vietnam, expressed confidence that bilateral relations between localities of Kazakhstan and Lao Cai would be further enhanced, particularly in tourism development and investment promotion.

At the meeting, Mr. Shovgi Mehdizada, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan, and Mr. Kanat Tumysh expressed their appreciation for the warm reception by Lao Cai’s leaders. They also congratulated the province on its achievements, especially the successful organization of the recent elections for deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels.

The ambassadors emphasized that the elevation of relations between Vietnam and Azerbaijan, as well as Kazakhstan, to a Strategic Partnership would serve as an important foundation for strengthening cooperation, particularly in education and oil and gas development. They also agreed on the initiative of establishing twinning relations between Lao Cai and a province of Azerbaijan and a province of Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Kanat Tumysh cordially invited the Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee and local leaders to visit and work in Kazakhstan. He reiterated his belief that bilateral relations between Kazakhstan’s localities and Lao Cai would continue to grow, especially in tourism and investment promotion. In the coming time, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Vietnam will implement activities to further enhance cooperation between Kazakh localities and Lao Cai Province.
